Shomurodov leads Başakşehir climb to seventh | OneFootball

Başakşehir beat Gaziantep 5-1 at Başakşehir Fatih Terim Stadyumu to rise from 10th to seventh in the Süper Lig.

Eldor Shomurodov opened the scoring in the 21st minute, finishing low after Amine Harit's pass.

Drissa Camara levelled for the visitors (26.), but Abbosbek Fayzullayev quickly restored the lead with a composed finish from goalkeeper Muhammed Sengezer's through ball (29.).

After the restart, an Arda Kızıldağ own goal widened the gap (53.). Umut Gunes swept in a fourth from Shomurodov's assist (68.). Kevin Rodrigues was sent off for Gaziantep (76.), and substitute Ivan Brnic wrapped it up from a Jerome Opoku pass (84.).

Başakşehir posted 57.5% possession and 17 attempts with seven on target. Gaziantep registered 14 attempts, three on target.

Shomurodov is now top of the Süper Lig scoring chart with 12 goals.
