We don’t say this lightly, but some fans of Scottish football have lost any shred of decency.

Over the past week, we’ve seen truly despicable posts online from opposition supporters—particularly Celtic fans—openly mocking and even glorifying the Ibrox Disaster. Yes, that Ibrox Disaster. The one that claimed 66 innocent lives. The one that left families shattered, lives ruined, and an entire football club—and sport—devastated forever.

But apparently, for a faction of these bitter obsessives, it’s become fair game for “banter.”

We’ve covered the disgraceful behaviour before but this crosses into the truly inhuman. It’s not just anti-Rangers bile anymore—it’s a repugnant celebration of human suffering, purely because the victims wore blue.

Let’s not sugarcoat this. If the roles were reversed, and Rangers fans ever mocked the likes of Hillsborough or Parkhead’s own dark moments, there would be national media condemnation, club bans, and police investigations. Yet somehow this gets a pass. Why? Because it’s us. Because in Scotland, hating Rangers has become so normalised, even our tragedies are fair game.

Where is the SFA? Where is the SPFL? Silent, as usual. Not a peep. Because protecting Rangers, or even defending decency when it comes to Rangers, is never the priority.

These are the same people who claimed a moral high ground during the Celtic Boys Club scandal. The same ones who want to sweep Neil Lennon’s vile incendiary remarks under the rug.

And it’s not just Celtic either—some Aberdeen, Hibs and Dundee United fans have joined in with this grotesque mockery. According to a recent exposé, several now-deleted tweets and Facebook comments openly referenced the 1971 tragedy in celebrations after matches. Celebrating deaths. Because it suits their agenda.

It’s filth. It’s cowardice. And it proves once again that the hatred of Rangers has eaten away the very soul of Scottish football.

We will never forget the 66. We will never stop calling this out. And we’ll never stop fighting to defend the honour and legacy of those who died that day, no matter how low others sink.

Shame on the lot of them.
