In the 19th minute, Ellis Reco Simms headed in Jake Bidwell's cross to set Coventry City on their way.

Simms doubled the lead with a crisp strike from outside the box after Josh Eccles found him (43.).

After the restart, Simms completed his hat-trick from close range, turning in Victor Torp's delivery following a corner (58.).

A brief injury stoppage for Carl Rushworth followed as play paused for treatment.

Torp then drove in a fourth from distance after Jamie Allen led a fast break (85.).
