Simon Adingra called his Sunderland spell difficult as the 24-year-old was unveiled by Monaco on Wednesday.

According to Get French Football News, the Ivory Coast international has joined on loan until the end of the season, with a purchase option included.

Following a big-money move from Brighton and Hove Albion to Sunderland, he featured only sparingly, starting just nine Premier League games.

He said players enjoy themselves when they play regularly, admitted he had lost that this season, and added he is in Monaco to regain confidence and move forward.

He said his Sunderland season was defined by more difficult moments and that his focus is now on Monaco.
