Ipswich are unlikely to return to a move for Millwall's Femi Azeez, in what could be excellent news for Sindre Walle Egeli
Ipswich Town have secured a third promotion in four years under Northern Irish boss Kieran McKenna, who will be hoping to finally cement the Tractor Boys' place in the top flight next campaign ahead of a huge summer window.
Indeed, since 2023, Ipswich have either been promoted or relegated in each of their last four campaigns, with the Suffolk-based outfit now preparing to have another shot in the top flight after relegation in 2025.
The Tractor Boys weren't quite at their scintillating best this year, but few Ipswich supporters will care, as the club has got their noses over the line, even if it did take until the final day with a 3-0 home win over Queens Park Rangers.
Now, the attentions of those at Portman Road will be firmly fixated on the summer window, as Ipswich are seemingly ready to renew their interest in Millwall winger Femi Azeez, as per Alan Nixon, with McKenna's side having previously seen a late bid in January in excess of £15 million rejected by the Lions.
Or so it was believed, with East Anglian Daily Times' Stuart Watson now reporting that, as things stand, returning to a deal for Azeez is not on the cards, which could prove to be excellent news for a current Tractor Boys winger.

It seemed as though Ipswich's plans for incomings in both the recent summer and winter windows were to stockpile as many of the Championship's best talent as they could.
With Jaden Philogene and Jack Clarke already on the wings, Kasey McAteer was brought in from Leicester in the summer, whilst Anis Mehmeti joined in January from Bristol City to continue strengthening wide areas.
Meanwhile, Marcelino Nunez was brought directly from bitter rivals Norwich City, as Dan Neil, Darnell Furlong, and Chuba Akpom all joined in the past 12 months, also having previously impressed in the second tier.
Though their biggest addition of the last two windows was that of Sindre Walle Egeli, who was brought from Danish side FC Nordsjaelland for around £17.5 million, with the Tractor Boys fending off interest from both Porto and Club Brugge to bring him to Suffolk, breaking the record fee spent by a Championship club in the process.
The 19-year-old was expected to take the second tier by storm, considering his fee, but things haven't exactly panned out that way.
With just four goals and one assist in 28 league games this campaign, it has been an underwhelming first year in England for the Norwegian, who will be hoping to make an impression over the off-season and be a part of McKenna's plans for next season.
As Azeez, for the moment, no longer appears to be a target, that could well indicate that Walle Egeli does indeed have an immediate future at Portman Road.
Whether he is capable of making the jump to the Premier League, at this stage, remains to be seen, but with Ipswich now no longer interested in the Millwall winger, it can only be good news for Walle Egeli.

With a move for Azeez now looking doubtful, Walle Egeli could be given a chance to stake claim in the Premier League for Ipswich next season.
McKenna has previously backed the Norwegian to come good, saying: "You look at his goals and they've all been pivotal.
"I've said it lots, but there's very, very few 19-year-olds playing regular minutes in this division. So it's a fantastic experience for him to be doing it.
"Of course, there are going to be ups and downs over the course of the season with a player so young coming to England for the first time.
"But I know he'll be so much stronger for the season that he's had. This experience will stand him in good stead."
What McKenna's plans for him next season remains to be seen, as should he play a small role in the top flight, then his immediate future is likely best served elsewhere where he can find more game time.
