Six managers sacked in six Brasileirão rounds, see the changes

The 2026 Brazilian Championship began with an intense pace of changes in team management. In just six rounds, there have already been six coaching changes. Six clubs started the competition with one coach and, even before the tournament advanced to its first third, they had to resort to a new name for the position.

The most recent case is Cruzeiro. The Raposa's management decided to dismiss Tite after a 3-3 draw with Vasco at Mineirão. Vasco itself has also gone through a change in command: Renato Gaúcho took over the position left by Fernando Diniz.

Even the leader of the Brasileirão joined the game of musical chairs. São Paulo dismissed coach Hernán Crespo before the fifth round. In this case, the problems went beyond the results. Among the main reasons that weighed on the decision to dismiss the Argentine coach were: poor relationship with the squad and demands on the management.

Flamengo, the current Brazilian champion, also surprised by dismissing Filipe Luís at the beginning of March. For his place, the club chose the Portuguese Leonardo Jardim, former Cruzeiro coach.
