Manchester United youngster Harry Amass is on the verge of joining Norwich City on loan for the remainder of the campaign.
The 18-year-old emerged on the scene during the second half of the previous campaign, when he was handed his senior debut by Ruben Amorim.
Last summer, the management thought it was best to send the teenager out on loan so he could gain valuable experience. Therefore, Amass joined Sheffield Wednesday, who are struggling both sportingly and financially. Man Utd were even willing to cover his full salary to push the deal through.
Wednesday are expectedly enduring a miserable campaign as they still have a negative tally of -7 in the Championship table, with their fate already sealed. However, Amass managed to impress at Hillsborough.
The teenager won back-to-back Player of the Month awards, an honour that he boasted of on social media as a response to Amorim, who ill-advsidely said the player was struggling in the Championship.

The Portuguese was most likely referring to the Owls’ shortcomings rather than the player’s individual performances, but that comment still left a sour taste in the left-back’s mouth, although he was quick to delete the controversial post.
In any case, Man Utd officials felt that Amass had seen enough in Sheffield, so they decided to recall him in the middle of the season, as they did with Toby Collyer, who spent the first half of the season at West Brom, but is now on the cusp of signing for Hull City on loan.
According to Sky Sports News correspondents Anthony Joseph and Dan Khan, Amass is expected to join Norwich City.
While the Canaries are also involved in a relegation scrap, as they currently sit 20th in the Championship table, they at least have something to fight for between now and the end of the season, unlike the desperate Wednesday, who have long resigned to relegation.
Based on his performances at Old Trafford last season and in Sheffield this term, Amass is undoubtedly one of the most exciting young players to emerge from Carrington in recent years.
Therefore, United directors will be watching his performances closely until June, so it remains to be seen if he’ll be deemed ready for prime time next season, although the next permanent head coach, whose identity remains anonymous for now, will have the final say.
