Sky Sports faced a backlash minutes into Wrexham’s trip to Cardiff City, with viewers accusing the broadcast of bias.

According to Wales Online, posts on social media complained of a Wrexham love-in and called the tone infuriating, while some felt coverage leaned towards Cardiff.

On the pitch on Monday 17 August at Cardiff City Stadium, Kieffer Moore scored early before Rubin Colwill struck deep into stoppage time to secure a 1-1 draw for Cardiff.

Not everyone was unhappy, others praised the programme, noting presenter Caroline Barker opened in Welsh and commending the commentary.

Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson said his side had chances to finish the game and that the goalkeeper made saves without being truly extended.

He added they repeatedly caused Cardiff problems and felt the match should have been out of sight.

The Championship resumes this weekend, starting with Birmingham vs Bristol City on Saturday 22 August, and the new Premier League season begins later this week.
