Slavia Prague, leaders in the Czech top flight, have been hit with a record fine and a 3-0 forfeit after their derby with Sparta ended amid chaotic scenes.

The federation announced on Tuesday that the hosts were fined 10 million crowns, about 408,000 euros, the maximum permitted, and ordered to play their next four matches behind closed doors. It also ruled the game a home-team forfeit, awarding Sparta a 3-0 win.

Saturday's match was halted with three minutes remaining. Slavia led 3-2, a result that would have sealed a second successive title, when an unprecedented pitch invasion unfolded. Hundreds of supporters surged onto the field, threw flares towards the Sparta section and attacked visiting players.

Referees stopped play and the players were rushed off the field. Once outside, Sparta refused to return to complete the final three minutes.

The disciplinary ruling cuts Slavia's lead over second-placed Sparta to five points.
