Renee Slegers admits her Arsenal side did not do enough to deserve to go through in the FA Cup after being knocked out by Brighton.
Goals from Madison Haley and Caitlin Hayes secured a 2-0 win for Brighton in the quarter-final clash.
“I think we have to put our hands up and own the performance and congratulate Brighton because they managed the game better than us,” Arsenal boss Slegers said after the game.
“They were clinical in the finishes they had, and we didn’t create big enough, and enough chances to win the game today.”
Both Steph Catley and Leah Williamson missed the FA Cup clash, and Slegers says Catley will not link up with Australia during the international break.
Williamson was called up by England despite missing out through injury of late, and Slegers also says there will be discussions with the national side to put a plan in place for Williamson’s involvement.
