Social media update from Chelsea player gives major clue about injury return in huge boost to Blues | OneFootball

Trevoh Chalobah has made a post which gives encouragement about his return from an ankle injury which may come sooner than expected.

Chelsea’s 5-2 defeat in Paris in the Champions League a couple of weeks ago was frustrating because they Blues had been in the game for 75 minutes. The game at home a week later was even more painful because of the lack of fight they put up, but also because Trevoh Chalobah was taken off take in the game with what looked like a horrific injury.

He was stretchered off, and TV broadcasts refused to show the replay of how badly twisted his ankle had been.

At that moment, we wrote off the rest of his season, and potentially the start of next season too.

Chelsea and Chalobah given boost by defender’s progress

That was brutal for Chelsea, because Chalobah has been one of their few reliable players this season, and their most consistent centre back for a while. But it was also terrible new for Trevoh personally, as it would have ended his chances of going to the World Cup with England.

However updates which started coming right after the game claimed the issue wasn’t as bad as some had feared, and now we’ve got an update from Trevoh himself showing he’s back on the bike machine.

He’s still in his protective boot, but this is all going much faster than feared.
