South Shields have named Hummel as their kit partner for the 2026/27 season, replacing Umbro.
According to Sunderland Echo, the announcement follows ORY Investment’s deal being finalised earlier this month. Chairman Geoff Thompson, new manager Mike Williamson and members of the new-look ownership group then travelled to the Far East to meet potential sponsors and to visit the Chinese FA and local academies.
Hummel will provide bespoke match kits, training wear, travel apparel and supporter merchandise across the club. New designs will be unveiled in the coming weeks, with details on launches and availability to follow.
Preparations for 2026/27 are under way. Former Newcastle defender Williamson has succeeded Ian Watson, who left for League Two Rochdale last week, and several pre-season friendlies have been arranged.
The club missed out on promotion to the National League last season while wearing Umbro. The agreement follows the Danish brand’s multi-year extension with Premier League neighbours Sunderland.
Hummel returned to Sunderland in summer 2024, reporting record replica shirt sales as Regis Le Bris’s side secured promotion to the Premier League. In their first season back, Sunderland finished seventh to earn a Europa League place.
