Southampton academy graduate Dom Ballard joins Bristol City | OneFootball

Southampton academy graduate Dom Ballard has joined Bristol City. According to Daily Echo, the fee is about £5 million and Southampton are understood to have a sell-on clause of up to 22 per cent.

Ballard, 21, spent 12 years in the club’s academy. He made four senior appearances for his boyhood side, scoring in a Carabao Cup victory at Cambridge United in 2022.

Loan spells followed at Cambridge United, Reading and Blackpool.

He left permanently last summer for League One side Leyton Orient.

In his sole season at Brisbane Road he scored 23 goals and supplied five assists in 44 appearances, winning the League One golden boot and player of the season.

Ballard could return to St Mary’s as an opposition player, with Tonda Eckert’s side due to host City on 12 September.
