Southampton discover play-off schedule as top-six push gathers pace | OneFootball

The EFL has confirmed the Championship play-off dates, mapping out Southampton’s possible route if they secure a top-six finish.

According to Sainstmarching.com, Saints sit sixth after a revitalising campaign, having last lost in mid-January to Hull City.

The regular season ends on the second of May, when Southampton visit Preston North End in what could be a must-win game.

If they remain sixth, they would have about a week before meeting the league’s third-placed side, currently Ipswich Town, in the first leg. They could also finish fifth, with that tie against fourth beginning the following day.

The return legs are set for the 11th and 12th of May. A Wembley final could await on the 23rd of May over the May Bank Holiday Weekend.

With seven matches left, Tonda Eckert’s team need to hold their nerve before supporters start booking London hotels.
