Southampton are interested in signing Real Mallorca striker Cyle Larin, who is on loan at Feyenoord.
In what looks set to be an extremely busy close to the winter transfer window for Southampton, Canada international striker Cyle Larin is on their radar as a potential signing.
Following their relegation from the Premier League last season, the Saints have endured a difficult time of it in the second-tier as they sit in the bottom-half of the table.
Will Still was appointed in the summer, but the former Lens boss was sacked mid-way through the first-half of the season and replaced by under-21's head coach Tonda Eckert.
Eckert began well in an interim capacity before results and performances faded when given the job permanently, but it now seems as though things have eased again, with seven points collected from their last three matches.
As they sit seven points outside of the top six and the play-off places, Southampton are now reportedly in talks to sign Larin to try and propel them closer to promotion - which is seemingly a knock-on effect from Adam Armstrong heading out of the exit door.

According to Jack Rosser, of The Sun, Southampton are in talks to sign Canada international striker Cyle Larin before the close of the window on Monday.
Larin is currently out on loan in the Eredivisie with Dutch giants Feyenoord, but Robin van Persie’s Rotterdam-based club appear set to terminate his loan deal at De Kuip, helping to facilitate a move for Larin to English football.
The 30-year-old has only appeared eight times in the Eredivisie this season, but has also racked up seven UEFA Europa League appearances - just one goal has been scored though across those 15 matches.
Larin’s parent club, Real Mallorca, are involved in a relegation battle in La Liga, but Larin struggled for regular minutes in the Balearic Islands as a result of the impressive performances of Kosovo international striker Vedat Muriqi.
The 6ft 2in striker has also represented the likes of Besiktas and Club Brugge in European football, and has been capped 87 times for the Canadian national team with 30 goals scored.
He is set to be a key man of Jesse Marsch’s squad as the Canucks co-host the 2026 FIFA World Cup this summer alongside the United States and Mexico, but he will be searching for regular game-time between now and the end of the season - he could find that at Southampton.

In the final day or so of the winter transfer window, Southampton are set to be involved in a bit of a striking transfer merry-go-round.
Rosser has also noted that Saints’ key man and one of the top scorers in the Championship this season, Adam Armstrong, is now set to complete an initial £7 million move to the Premier League’s basement club Wolverhampton Wanderers, as first reported by John Percy.
That move means that Cameron Archer’s potential switch to Scottish giants Rangers is now no longer expected to go through, seemingly regardless of whether or not Larin does eventually make the switch to St Mary’s.
The ex-Aston Villa man now looks likely to compete with Larin, should his move go through, along with the likes of Ross Stewart in attack.
