No doubt, Southampton prodigy Tyler Dibling is a generational talent. Still, the Saints might agree on a low-fee transfer for him if they don't wish a problematic situation.

Don't you wonder why Southampton doesn't make massive individual player sales? For context, ex-star Romeo Lavia's sale for £58m was their second highest ever.

Well, it's because despite having a renowned talent factory, their overall situation lets them down.

Even now a similar scenario feels brewing up again at St. Mary's.

Undoubtedly, prodigy Tyler Dibling has been Southampton's biggest find this season. Subsequently, English clubs, especially Tottenham had been vying for his signatures lately.

Now, as a Saints fan, Dibling continuing after January would have surely seen you happy. But it may turn out of favor for Southampton later.

This is because they have let pass a massive opportunity to sell him at their asking price. Surely, a summer move is still possible, but it will be quite different then.

Recently, former scout Mick Brown explained a concerning scenario, that might become a reality. Speaking to Football Insider, he opined on Dibling's potential transfer: “If Southampton are relegated, I expect he’ll be available for a reasonable price because they’re going to be under pressure to raise some money.”

If this happens, Dibling might repeat ex-star Charly Alcaraz's situation at Southampton.

Remember, the promising Argentine who was the club hero 2 years ago? But his stubbornness for regular top-flight status cost him, and also the Saints, who had to do with a reasonably low fee for his exit than was his potential.

Honestly, as things proceed, Southampton looks set to take another hard hit with Dibling's case.

If the Saints get relegated, Dibling may demand a Tottenham exit himself. This might see Southampton being forced to accept a bid of anything around £30m.

The result? Southampton losing another star for an undervalued transfer fee.

Surely, this would be a Southampton fan's nightmare. Wishing a miraculous relegation escape still changes everything.
