Napoli is willing to offer £10m for Southampton fullback Yukinari Sugawara which might double the Saints' initial £6m investment in him.

It may sound surprising initially, but Southampton's luck factor has changed for the better lately. Now, before you argue this claim in other aspects, let's restrict this observation to their transfer preparations.

Remarkably, it seems the Saints have unlocked all their luck quotient at once now. While it's not that Southampton hasn't put in the effort, being rewarded for it has been rare this season.

Notably, what started with a Premier League announcement has now seen Southampton attracting multiple transfer opportunities to maximize the summer window.

Realistically, without a stroke of luck, would Southampton have even imagined Napoli as a suitor for Sugawara? Probably not. Now, however, the fullback is proving to be a valuable asset, with Southampton poised to make a profit on him.

As per Italian outlet Calcio Mercato reports, Napoli is willing to table a significant £10m offer for defender Sugawara. To put that in context, the Saints had spent only £6m for the Japanese right-back last summer.

Southampton tipped for huge profit with Sugawara's sale

Clearly, it's easy to realize that if Southampton agree to the 24-year-old's departure, they are certain to fetch a brilliant return on investment for their Sugawara purchase this season.

Now, considering the struggling season Sugawara has had, especially in the second half, there isn't a doubt whether he should be made to leave. But again, this decision isn't that practical to decide.

This is because in case Sugawara leaves, Southampton would deplete their full-back department where an experienced name Kyle Walker-Peters is certain to depart this summer. That hands the entire right-wing responsibilities on an error-prone James Bree, that doesn't seem wise.
