Spain mania in Castelló as champions arrive, Lamine, Pedri, Cucurella in demand | OneFootball

Spain’s European champions, among the favourites to add a second star, touched down in Castellón on Thursday, sparking fevered interest among supporters.

According to El Periódico Mediterráneo, the squad trained in Las Rozas in the morning before leaving Barajas at 18.00, a 30-minute hop to Castellón Airport.

From there they moved to the Hotel Center de Castellón, where fans gathered for selfies and autographs. With many children present, the loudest cheers went to Lamine Yamal and Pedri, plus Rodri Hernández, Mikel Oyarzabal, Marc Cucurella, Dani Olmo and Ferran Torres.

Borja Iglesias paused at the hotel to pose for photos, while Lamine Yamal and Pedri did so at the airport.

There is a strong Villarreal connection, with five players having passed through the club or its academy, Álex Baena, Yeremy Pino, Rodri Hernández, Pablo Fornals and Borja Iglesias. For Baena and Yeremy, the visit also marks a return after leaving last summer.

Spain will head to La Cerámica on Friday afternoon for the Serbia friendly at 21.00, another warm-up for the 2026 World Cup, to be staged this summer in the United States, Mexico and Canada. A sell-out is expected, with heavy demand since Monday when the RFEF placed tickets on sale.
