Spain players ‘to receive’ €865,000 each if they win World Cup final against Argentina | OneFootball

Spain face Argentina in Sunday’s World Cup final in New Jersey, and player bonuses are back in the spotlight.

Kick-off is 21:00 in Spain. Argentina came from behind to beat England 2-1 to reach the decider.

According to Cadena COPE, Spain’s captains agreed the bonus structure with RFEF president Rafael Louzán in March. FIFA will pay about €44m to the winners and €28m to the runners-up. Under that agreement, 45% would go to the players if Spain win, around €865,000 gross each, and 40% if they lose, about €507,000 per player.

This World Cup features the biggest prize distribution in the competition’s history, above Qatar 2022.

Spain return to a World Cup final 16 years after South Africa 2010, the nation’s only title. Argentina pursue a repeat triumph, with Lionel Messi aiming for a dream farewell.
