Spain v Serbia confirmed for Estadio de la Cerámica on 27 March | OneFootball

Spain, the European champions under Luis de la Fuente, will play Serbia at Estadio de la Cerámica on Friday 27 March after the planned Finalissima with Argentina in Qatar was cancelled.

The federation and Villarreal have confirmed the friendly, which will kick off at 21:00.

RFEF officials sounded out Villarreal about hosting, an idea welcomed by chief executive and head of sport Fernando Roig Negueroles.

Villarreal accepted the proposal on Monday to bring the fixture to the province of Castellón.

It will be Spain's first game at the ground since its extensive redevelopment in recent years.

Under its former name, El Madrigal, the stadium hosted Spain against San Marino in June 1999, Chile in November 2008, and Switzerland in June 2018.
