Spain’s world champions salute 2 million at Cibeles fiesta | OneFootball

Spain’s world champions brought Madrid to a standstill as their bus parade ended at Cibeles, with 2 million fans celebrating the second star. According to El Correo, the Government Delegation in Madrid provided the crowd estimate.

The team bus carried the slogan Stars shine together, DJ Panda set the soundtrack and Luis de la Fuente revelled alongside his players. On arrival, the squad were introduced, starting with David Raya, then Marc Pubill and Álex Grimaldo.

Aitana performed Superestrella, a staple of the run, before Arde Bogotá played Soltad a los perros and Ana Mena and Lola Índigo delivered Pa ti toa. Shakira sent a message congratulating La Roja, praising collective work and joking that Spain brings her luck.

Rodri told supporters it might have felt like a Coca Cola cup, but this was the World Cup. De la Fuente thanked Spain, called his 26 players the best and stressed togetherness. The captain invited an ovation for Ferran Torres, who was loudly serenaded.

Lamine Yamal drew the biggest cheers, Unai Simón danced and Álex Baena marked his 25th birthday with the trophy. Borja Iglesias took the mic, Aymeric Laporte kept the rhythm and Marc Cucurella hit the drums, cradled the cup and revived his paella chant.

The squad honoured María Caamaño, the ‘princesa futbolera guerrera’ whose fight inspired them after her death in April. Seismographs captured tremors during Ferran’s extra-time winner and at the final whistle. Confetti fell as players and fans signed off as world champions.
