Inter Milan second-string goalkeeper Josep Martinez is keen to overtake veteran star Yann Sommer in the pecking order.
According to Corriere dello Sport via FCInter1908, the Spaniard is eyeing a more prominent role this season.
Josep Martinez joined the Nerazzurri from Genoa for a reported fee of €13 million last summer.
However, Inter signed him to be a backup for Yann Sommer in his first season at San Siro.
Therefore, he only made ten appearances in 2024/25.

Martinez only registered five matches in Serie A last term, adding four more in the Coppa Italia.
Furthermore, ex-boss Simone Inzaghi played him just once in the Champions League.
Little has changed this season.
Indeed, new manager Cristian Chivu favored Sommer over the 27-year-old in both league games.
However, the Romanian tactician has promised to give all players the benefit of the doubt.
As a result, Martinez believes he could take Sommer’s place during the season.
In doing so, he would spare Inter another search for a new shot-stopper.
