Sporting CP beat Santa Clara 4-2 at Estádio José Alvalade on Friday to remain second in Liga Portugal.
Gustavo Klismahn put Santa Clara ahead in the third minute, finishing from Fernando's pass at the far post.
Leões levelled from the spot when Geny Catamo was fouled by Guilherme Romão and Pedro Gonçalves converted (22.).
Daniel Bragança swept in after Rafael Nel's cut-back (39.). Moments later, Trincão found the bottom corner from Hidemasa Morita's pass (42.).
After the interval, Maximiliano Araújo replaced Gonçalves and Leões kept control on the left flank.
A Gonçalo Paciência strike was then ruled out after a VAR review, but the substitute did score from Brenner's assist (89.). Nel sealed it in the fifth minute of stoppage time, slotting in from Eduardo Quaresma's through ball.
Rui Silva made two saves as Leões managed the closing stages.
Leões posted 71.1% possession and 22 attempts, eight on target. Santa Clara registered seven attempts.
Next, Leões visit Arsenal in the Champions League. Santa Clara host Rio Ave next.
