Nico Paz has become one of the most talked-about young players in Europe this season, and his future is now a topic of serious conversation, especially at Real Madrid.

The Argentine midfielder has been in impressive form for Como, playing a key role in their remarkable Serie A campaign.

Currently sitting in fourth place, Como are in contention for a Champions League spot, a factor that could prove decisive in Nicoz’s future.

Despite strong interest from Real Madrid in bringing him back, Como’s sporting director Carlalberto Ludi has made it clear that the club are not giving up hope of retaining the midfielder.

“Nico Paz is happy here; the possibility of competing in European competitions might convince him to stay,” he said, according to AS.

Ideal environment for development

Ludi also highlighted the project at Como, explaining why the club believes it remains an attractive destination for a young player’s growth.

“There’s a chance he’ll stay, as this is an ideal environment for young players: welcoming, ambitious, and focused on development.”

He further addressed the reality of managing emerging talents and potential departures.

“Sooner or later, the time will come when someone leaves, but right now we don’t have that feeling,” he said.

Real Madrid still pushing for return

While Como remain hopeful, the situation on Real Madrid’s side appears far more decisive.

The Spanish giants are seriously considering activating their buyback clause for the midfielder, having been impressed by his performances in Italy.

In fact, the Argentine is seen as a player capable of contributing to the first team immediately.

Reports suggest that both the player and Real Madrid have already agreed to the plan that he will return to the club once the €9 million clause is triggered.

However, Como’s potential qualification for the Champions League could give them a strong motive to convince the midfielder.

Ultimately, the opportunity to become a focal point, which he is right now at Como, could make Nico think twice.
