Thomas Frank says he is “1000% sure” he is the right man to lead Tottenham despite another home defeat, this time at the hands of Newcastle.
Spurs are now just five points above the relegation zone following their 2-1 loss but Frank insists he can turn things around.
“1000% sure,” Frank said when asked if he believes he is the right man to lead Spurs.
“I’m also 1000% sure that I never expected us to be in a situation like this with 11 or 12 injuries on the back of this and what we have been facing.
“I know when you’re building something you need to get through things and show unbelievably strong resilience.
“I think it’s fair to say there’s been a few more before me sat up here, not only for Tottenham but many other clubs, who have lost their head many times and I think you need to have a calm head, carry on, keep fighting, keep doing the right things, make sure we stick together.
“You can only get through this together. That’s the board, the leaders, the players, the staff, me, the fans. We only get through this together.”
Asked if he believes he will be in charge for Spurs’ next game, against league leaders and north London rivals Arsenal, Frank replied: “Yeah, I’m convinced I will be.
“I understand the question. I understand that it’s easy to point at me, but I also think it’s never only the head coach, or the ownership, or the directors, or the players, or the staff. It’s everyone.
“Everyone knows, directors, ownership, myself, what position we are in and what we need to improve and do better. That’s what we’re working very hard on.”
