It is safe to say it has been an incredible season on loan at Leyton Orient for Josh Keeley so far. Having first struggled to make the match day squad, never mind the first XI - the goalkeeper was given the gloves at the end of October, and has never dropped them since.

Although the results with Keeley in the side were inconsistent to begin with, he was generally playing pretty well. Then, heading into December in 21st place in League One, Orient won 16/18 points through the month, keeping six clean sheets in the process. That's right, 540 minutes of action, without the young Spurs goalkeeper having to pick the ball out of the back of his own net.

During that period, he even managed to register an assist, during a 2-0 win away to Leyton Orient. So, he ended the month with more assists than goals conceded. Pretty incredible. As a reward for this form, the keeper was nominated for the PFA fans League One player of the month award for December.

On loan goalkeeper given some much deserved recognition

Lo and behold, it has now been confirmed that Keeley has officially won the award of PFA fans League One player of the month, some absolutely fine and well deserved recognition for all of his efforts. Really encouraging to see, as the 21-year old continues to go from strength to strength.

His form has not stopped there, mind you - nor Orient's. The O's won their first two league games of 2025, with another clean sheet for Keeley and the defensive unit included in there too. Then, in their FA Cup third round tie at home to Derby County - the on loan Spurs man became the hero for the third round in a row, with his penalty shootout save sending them through to the fourth round.

In the first round, he saved a penalty in a shootout win against Boreham Wood. In the second round, he scored a last gasp equaliser at home to Oldham Athletic. In the third round, he was again the shootout hero in the win over Derby, after a 1-1 draw throughout 120 mins.

When it comes to League One, the goalkeeper was rewarded with his player of the month award. In the FA Cup, he has been rewarded with a fourth round tie at home to Manchester City, with Pep Guardiola and co all coming to town in a few weeks time. Incredible.
