Tottenham reportedly look set to bank as much as £5m from AZ Alkmaar selling Troy Parrott to West Ham United this summer.

The Republic of Ireland international didn’t get too many first-team opportunities during his time at Spurs, going out on loan five times before being sold to his current club AZ.

Parrott has impressed in his time in the Eredivisie, scoring 51 goals in 96 games so far, and it seems this could earn him a move back to English football with West Ham.

That’s according to talkSPORT, who add that Tottenham have a 20% sell-on clause for Parrott, meaning they stand to bank around £5m if a £25m deal goes through.

West Ham United looking to strengthen for promotion push

West Ham got relegated last season, but have been handed a number of potentially significant boosts in the transfer window so far this summer.

Keeping Jarrod Bowen is a big plus for the Hammers, but they’ve also been able to cash in on selling Mateus Fernandes to Spurs and Crysencio Summerville to Al Hilal.

That should give West Ham plenty of money to spend on new signings, and it seems a £25m deal for Parrott could be one to watch.

It will be interesting to see if the 24-year-old can be tempted by the move to the London Stadium, though, after performing so well in a major top European league.

Parrott has also lifted silverware with AZ, scoring in their cup final victory last season, so even if having a chance at fighting for promotion to the Premier League could be tempting, there also seems little reason for him to walk out on his current club right now.
