Richarlison's 90th-minute equaliser gave Tottenham Hotspur what could be a vital point away to Liverpool.

Igor Tudor made the decision to stick with Guglielmo Vicario after the early substitution of Antonin Kinsky in the Champions League midweek but the Italian was at fault for Liverpool's opening goal.

The Reds won a freekick about 25 yards out with Dominik Szoboszlai standing over it. The Hungarian's shot was fairly central but it seemed like Vicario not only didn't sort his feet out properly but didn't show enough strength to keep it out.

It could have been easy to imagine Spurs collapsing from there but they showed that they still have some signs of life with Richarlison having two late chances in the first half – one header just wide and one forcing a save out of Alisson Becker.

As the second half started Liverpool certainly had chances with young Rio Ngumoha showing perhaps a little of inexperience for the ones he missed, although the forward did impress until he was replaced.

Eventually, Tottenham had to push forward which left holes at the back. At times the likes of Cody Gakpo as well substitutes Hugo Ekitike and Mohamed Salah breaking with the ball but unable to find that finishing touch.

Liverpool's inability to kill the game off seemed to give Spurs confidence towards the end of the game and they found an equaliser in the 90th minute.

The goal was simple and will have Arne Slot scratching his head about his team's inability to defend it. Vicario's long ball forward that Andy Robertson didn't deal with. Substitute Randal Kolo Muani got on the end of it and drove into the box before Richarlison got the final touch to make it 1-1.

The home side had a great chance to get a winner in stoppage time when they broke as Spurs pushed forward. There was four on two in the Reds' favour but they couldn't make the most of it.

For Spurs, this unexpected result must be something thy can springboard off should they wish to stay and it will certainly give Igor Tudor confidence going forward.

Liverpool meanwhile missed the chance to move up to fourth in the table after Aston Vill'a loss to Manchester United earlier but they do at least move ahead of Chelsea.
