Tottenham predicted lineup and injury latest ahead of Everton relegation showdown

Tottenham’s season has lurched towards an unthinkable finale. What once looked like a campaign of transition under Roberto De Zerbi has become a fight for survival, and Sunday’s clash with Everton now carries the weight of consequence rarely felt in N17 during the Premier League era.

Spurs sit just two points above the relegation zone heading into the final round of fixtures. Victory guarantees safety. Anything less opens the door to panic, especially if results elsewhere swing against them. Supporters arriving at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium will do so with nerves jangling, but there is at least some encouragement from the latest team news.

De Zerbi has confirmed Dominic Solanke is available again after recovering from the hamstring injury sustained against Wolves last month. The striker missed Tottenham’s previous three matches but returned to training this week.

“Solanke is available, we have to decide if he starts in the first XI,” De Zerbi said on Friday.

Those words matter because Tottenham’s attack has lacked authority in recent weeks. Richarlison worked tirelessly against Chelsea and grabbed a late goal, yet Spurs have looked blunt for long periods, struggling to convert possession into pressure.

Tottenham injury latest boosts De Zerbi before Everton clash

There is further good news surrounding James Maddison. The midfielder continues his recovery from anterior cruciate ligament damage and is now edging closer to full sharpness. De Zerbi confirmed Maddison is fit enough to feature again, though the Italian remains cautious over his workload.

“[James] Maddison is available. It’s always tough to decide before the game how many minutes he can play,” he explained.

“Of course, he’s a different player, a top player for us, but we have to analyse the physical condition.”

Djed Spence is also expected to be available despite suffering a broken jaw during the defeat at Stamford Bridge. The defender is likely to wear a protective mask if selected, underlining the commitment Spurs players understand is required in a match of this magnitude.

Not all the injury news is positive. Cristian Romero remains sidelined with a knee issue and is continuing rehabilitation in Argentina. Dejan Kulusevski, Ben Davies, Mohammed Kudus, Wilson Odobert and Xavi Simons are also unavailable, leaving De Zerbi short of proven options.

The absence of Romero in particular has destabilised Tottenham’s defensive line throughout the closing months of the season. His aggression, leadership and anticipation have been sorely missed in matches where Spurs have appeared fragile under pressure.

Predicted lineup points towards continuity

De Zerbi has shown little appetite for sweeping changes since taking charge. Even after the 2-1 defeat to Chelsea, there is an expectation he will trust the same core group again against Everton.

Guglielmo Vicario has returned to fitness but may remain on the bench due to a lack of match rhythm. That means Antonin Kinsky is expected to continue in goal despite the pressure surrounding the fixture.

Midfield looks settled. Rodrigo Bentancur, Joao Palhinha and Conor Gallagher have developed a combative understanding over recent matches. Their ability to control transitions will be crucial against an Everton side certain to play directly and aggressively.

Further forward, Richarlison could again lead the line unless Solanke is deemed ready to start. Mathys Tel and Randal Kolo Muani have struggled for consistency, though both remain likely starters due to the lack of alternatives.

Tottenham predicted lineup vs Everton: Kinsky; Porro, Danso, Van de Ven, Udogie; Bentancur, Palhinha; Kolo Muani, Gallagher, Tel; Richarlison.

It is not a side overflowing with confidence, but there is enough quality within it to secure survival if composure can be found early.

Pressure builds around Tottenham survival battle

For Tottenham supporters, the anxiety surrounding this fixture reflects a broader frustration with how the season has unravelled. Injuries have played their part, but inconsistency and defensive vulnerability have repeatedly dragged the club backwards.

Everton will sense opportunity. Sean Dyche’s side have built their identity around discipline and resilience, precisely the qualities Spurs have lacked too often during difficult moments this season.

Yet football has a habit of delivering redemption when least expected. Tottenham still possess players capable of producing decisive moments. Maddison’s creativity, Richarlison’s relentlessness and Pedro Porro’s attacking thrust from full-back offer routes towards victory.

The atmosphere inside the stadium will inevitably swing between fear and hope. Early nerves could spread quickly if Everton frustrates the home side, but a fast Tottenham start would transform the mood instantly.

De Zerbi’s task is not simply tactical. He must convince his players to play with courage despite the suffocating pressure surrounding the afternoon. Survival would not erase the failures of the campaign, but it would prevent catastrophe and allow a painful rebuild to begin in calmer circumstances.

For now, Tottenham’s entire season rests on one final performance.
