Kevin Sauvage is reporting that Teddy Teuma may be making his way back to the Belgian Pro League. The former Union St Gilloise captain looks set to join Standard Liege. Remarkably, the Maletese international could join on a free, even though his contract with current club Reims runs until 2027. Sauvage is reporting that Teuma will have his contract terminated with the now Ligue 2 side, despite the midfielder having cost the club around €8m a few years ago. Teuma will join Standard Liege until the end of the current Pro League season.
During his time at Union, Teuma was one of the top performing central midfielders and a real leader for the Brussels side. The 32-year-old played an impressive 164 games for Union between 2019 and 2023, scoring 30 goals. During his time with Union he helped them return to the top flight and challenge for the Pro League. Sadly, Teuma left just before the side achieved real success with the Belgian cup triumph of 2024 and the title winning moment in 2025.
Since joining Reims, Teuma has played 69 games and scored 14 goals. In 19 games this season he has six goals and five assists, but lost his starting place in the side.
Sauvage is also reporting that Standard Liege will add another player from France. Cameroonian winger Bernard Nguene is also set to join from Ligue 1 side Nice.
