Giorgi Kvilitaia equalised in the 31st minute with a low finish, but Metz lost 3-1 to Paris FC despite the striker forcing four saves.
Introduced on the half hour, Kvilitaia timed his run through the middle and slotted into the bottom right (31.). The substitute's movement immediately gave Metz a focal point.
He stayed busy. A guided header towards the bottom right drew a low stop (40.). After the restart, a right footed effort from outside the box was held high in the centre (51.).
Kvilitaia finished with four shots on target from four attempts and four touches in the box, plus one key pass. He also won possession six times, underscoring how he kept Paris FC's back line occupied.
His constant runs across the centre backs and willingness to attack space between them gave Metz a direct outlet and sustained pressure, even as the game tilted away late on.
Metz visit Le Havre next. Paris FC host LOSC next.
