Tawanda Maswanhise headed in the opener in the fifth minute to set Motherwell on course for a 2-0 win at Livingston.
He burst onto a through ball and glanced a header from the centre of the box, steering it past the goalkeeper after Elijah Just picked the pass (5.).
Maswanhise struck again on the break (28.), racing through to slot low into the bottom right after Callum Slattery released him, punishing the hosts' high line.
He kept stretching the game, sending one effort over from the centre (38.), then seeing a right-side drive pushed away by the goalkeeper (43.). Later he drew another save from distance (59.). He finished with seven attempts, four on target, and 10 touches in the opposition box, and he is now top of Scottish Premiership scoring with 13 goals.
With quick service into space and incisive through balls, his straight-line runs repeatedly split the defence, giving Motherwell a constant outlet in transition and control of the key moments.
Motherwell visit Dundee next. Livingston host Falkirk.
