Carlo Holse broke the game open in the 50th minute with a left-footed strike, setting Samsunspor on their way to a 2-1 win over Beşiktaş.
Receiving Olivier Ntcham's pass, Holse arrowed a shot from outside the box into the top left (50.). The Dane kept finding pockets between the lines and drove his team up the pitch.
Moments later, Holse released Tanguy Coulibaly for a presentable chance on the right (57.). He stayed lively after the hour, forcing Ersin Destanoglu into a save with a firm header (63.).
Holse finished with three attempts, two on target, plus nine successful final third passes and four clearances, blending incision with graft. His late work helped the hosts manage pressure after Kara Kartal converted a penalty in stoppage time at the end of the second half.
Samsunspor host Trabzonspor in the Türkiye Kupasi next. Kara Kartal face Alanyaspor in the same competition.
