A staggering statistic, highlighting the brilliance of Barcelona starlet Lamine Yamal during the semi-finals of the Champions League, has on Thursday surfaced online.
Wide-man Lamine is of course fresh off a pair of standout performances on the continent over the last week.
Afforded starts in each of Barcelona’s Champions League semi-final meetings with Italian heavyweights Inter Milan, the 17-year-old dazzled down the Blaugrana’s right.
Lamine was credited with single-handedly dragging his teammates back into things in a 3-3 first-leg stalemate, before again terrorising Inter’s backline at San Siro this past Tuesday night.
And such exploits, as alluded to above, are aptly reflected in the statistics.
As revealed by statisticians WhoScored, Lamine racked up more successful dribbles than any other player in the Champions League’s semi-final stage.
Not only that, but his tally of 20 is more than three times that of 2nd-placed Bukayo Saka, and four times as many as Nicolò Barella in 3rd.
