Inter Milan dropped two precious points in Saturday’s top-of-table Serie A clash against reigning holders Napoli.

According to Corriere dello Sport via FCInterNews, Inter’s notorious lapses in concentration in the latter stages of play came to the fore once again.

Cristian Chivu seemed to be on the cusp of claiming his first league victory against fellow top-four rivals.

However, Scott McTominay’s 81st-minute equalizer condemned the Nerazzurri to a frustrating 2-2 draw at San Siro.

Despite boasting the division’s seventh-best defensive record, Inter have been prone to conceding late this season.

Indeed, last year’s Serie A runners-up have conceded only 17 goals in their opening 19 league outings.

However, six of them came beyond the 75th minute, three times more than AC Milan and Napoli.

Furthermore, only four teams have conceded more goals in the final 15 minutes than Inter so far.

With that in mind, it’s fair to say that Inter’s late slip-ups have plagued their lofty ambitions in the first half of the season.
