Stéphane Moulin is among the leading candidates to become Laval’s new head coach as the Ligue 2 club seek a successor to Olivier Frapolli.
According to L'Équipe, president Laurent Lairy has interviewed four to five coaches in recent days, including Stéphane Moulin.
Laval parted with Frapolli at the end of the season after seven years in Mayenne, securing survival through a play-off against Rouen that ended 1-1 then 1-0.
Moulin, 58, has been unattached since leaving Valenciennes (N) in mid-February. He is thought to have impressed in his meeting, although competition for the job remains.
He has returned to live not far from Mayenne, in his home region near Angers, where he was an emblematic coach. Laval are expected to decide early this week.
