The former Saint-Étienne midfielder Stéphane Pédron, remembered for his left foot, has immersed himself in an all-sport routine since pausing his scouting job nearly three years ago. With a racket, on his bike or in front of the TV, he rarely sits still.
According to Le Progres, an early March call found him asking for two minutes while he set up his Garmin for a Saturday outing. He was plotting 50 km across the Lorient countryside, his first ride since the start of winter.
He goes out alone or with a friend and refuses to wait for perfect weather, reasoning that if he did he would never leave the house.
Fridays are locked at 11 am for tennis with friends. Tennis is the mainstay, topped up with padel.
At 55, the Breton stays trim, driven by a need to burn energy regularly. He says he has to get his sport in or he does not feel right, even if his calf sometimes complains.
