We took a look at which players earn the most money at QPR

After a disappointing start to the season, QPR have found their feet in recent weeks and have begun to move up the Championship table under Marti Cifuentes.

Cifuentes was starting to come under pressure at Loftus Road with his side in the relegation zone, but they've found the form they showed during the latter stages of the 2023/24 campaign to move up the table and pull away from the bottom three.

The Hoops don't have the financial muscle that some Championship clubs possess, so they can't be expected to be challenging for promotion, but a mid-table finish this season would represent good progress this year in Cifuentes' first full season in charge.

While QPR don't have the finances that some clubs do, they still have a number of quality players in the squad, so we've taken a look at who their five best paid players are.

Goalkeeper Paul Nardi joined the Hoops from Gent in the summer of 2024, and he's wasted no time in cementing his status as their first choice shot-stopper this season.

The 30-year-old Frenchman has been a mainstay in Cifuentes' starting XI this season, and he's proved good value for money, earning an estimated £12,500 a week, according to Capology.

4 Morgan Fox - £15,000

Left-back Morgan Fox joined QPR from Championship rivals Stoke City in the summer of 2023 and is earning an estimated weekly wage of £15,000, as per QPR's Capology page.

The 31-year-old hasn't played all too regularly this season thanks to injuries, and his time at Loftus Road probably hasn't gone as he'd have planned so far.

With his contract up at the end of the season, it would be a surprise if he was offered a deal earning that same amount of money if Cifuentes decided he wanted to keep him.

3 Michael Frey - £15,000

Striker Michael Frey joined QPR from Royal Antwerp in January 2024, and he is earning an estimated £15,000 a week.

The 30-year-old Swiss striker had a difficult start to life at Loftus Road, but he was showing signs of becoming an important player for the club at the start of the season, scoring four times in all competitions before injury struck.

He made his return from injury in a recent win against Preston, a timely boost for Cifuentes, and he'll be hoping to earn a new deal at the club with his contract set to expire at the end of the season.

Just like Fox and Frey above, midfielder Jack Colback is earning an estimated £15,000 a week at QPR.

The 35-year-old midfielder has made just a handful of appearances this season thanks to injury, and his age, coupled with recent injury woes means that he's at risk of being released at the end of the current campaign with his contract set to expire.

If Colback is retained, then you can expect him to be earning less money than he is now with the former Newcastle United man coming towards the end of his playing days.

Club captain Steve Cook is QPR's highest earner, earning an estimated weekly wage of £30,000, which makes him the club's highest earner by some considerable distance.

33-year-old Cook joined QPR from Nottingham Forest in the summer of 2023, and he's proved an excellent addition, bringing some vast experience to the heart of the Hoops' defence.

His current deal is up at the end of the season and while Cifuentes will likely be keen to keep him at the club, it remains to be seen if he'll be able to command a wage of £30,000 a week as he approaches his mid-thirties.
