The STJD has filed charges against Kaio César and both clubs after a half-time melee during Corinthians’ 1-1 draw at Bahia on Sunday.

According to Meu Timao, the forward has been cited under CBJD article 250 for an unsporting or hostile act, with a possible suspension of one to three matches at a hearing set for Thursday at 10:00.

The incident occurred immediately after the first-half whistle at Arena Fonte Nova. After a touchline tussle with Zé Guilherme, Kaio César was confronted by Alejo Véliz, who then went to ground, simulating he had been struck.

The clash escalated to involve players and staff and took minutes to break up. Both Corinthians and Bahia were also cited under article 257 for taking part in a brawl, punishable by a fine of up to R$ 20,000.

Prosecutor Marcos Souto Maior argues that Kaio César triggered the turmoil by moving towards Véliz in a hostile manner after the whistle, outside any play. He adds that the evidence does not prove a blow that would amount to physical aggression.

Referee Ramon Abatti Abel has also been charged under article 266 for failing to record the incidents in his report, an offence that carries a suspension of 30 to 360 days and a possible fine.

Corinthians host Athletico-PR at Neo Química Arena on Thursday at 19:30 in the 21st round of the Brasileirão.
