The STJD has cut suspensions for Corinthians pair Hugo Souza and Matheuzinho to one and two matches, and replaced a home-ground penalty, following a Friday hearing on incidents in the 12 April derby with Palmeiras in Itaquera.
The club said in a statement that it will comply by closing the Oeste Inferior for one match, and welcomed avoiding games behind closed doors or relocation. It also stressed the importance of playing at home with supporters and pledged to strengthen anti-discrimination protocols.
Matheuzinho’s ban was reduced from four to two games for punching an opponent. Hugo Souza’s was cut from two to one for criticising the refereeing in his post-match interview. The initial loss of a home game was converted to a one-match closure of the Oeste Inferior, the R$80,000 fine was upheld, and the club was cleared over a drone carrying a stuffed pig, avoiding a R$10,000 penalty.
Both will be absent for Fernando Diniz against Vasco on Sunday at 16:00 Brasília time in the 13th round of the Campeonato Brasileiro. That fixture will be at full capacity. The closure, around eight thousand seats, will apply to the next league home match against São Paulo on 10 May.
Allan received a one-game ban for an obscene gesture against Fluminense at the Maracanã in early April, with the tribunal noting his social media apology and the club’s fine. Having served his automatic suspension, he is available and is expected to be named for the Vasco game.
