STJD upholds Allan’s two-match ban after Palmeiras appeal | OneFootball

STJD has upheld a two-match suspension for Palmeiras midfielder Allan after the club’s appeal.

He was sent off in the first half of the round 18 win over Chapecoense in the Campeonato Brasileiro. According to Nosso Palestra, the dismissal led to a charge under Art. 254 of the CBJD for a violent challenge.

The code lists examples including the use of force beyond what is reasonably expected for the sport, and reckless or imprudent play even without intent to harm.

The case was heard on Friday, and the tribunal left the sanction unchanged.

As a result, Allan will miss matches against Coritiba and Atlético-MG when the league resumes after the World Cup.
