Hugo Moura levelled in the seventh minute of second half stoppage time, earning Vasco da Gama a 2-2 draw at Flamengo. The substitute's header capped a nine-minute cameo that changed the game's tone.
Meeting Carlos Cuesta's deep cross, Moura guided a precise header into the bottom left, punishing Mengão after they failed to close down the delivery.
Moments earlier, the midfielder had teed up José Luis Rodríguez for a header that Agustín Rossi clawed away, signalling the intent that pushed Vasco higher and set the platform for his late impact.
Across those nine minutes, he completed 12 of 14 passes, produced one key pass and won an aerial duel, a tidy burst that kept the Cruz-Maltino alive in the contest.
With Fla trying to manage the closing stages, the space for late crosses suited his timing into the box, and his movement unsettled the home back line.
Vasco visit Audax in the Sudamericana next, while Fla head to Independiente Medellín in the Libertadores.
