Striker picks up third yellow, ruled out for Corinthians in the Brasileirão

Corinthians will have a significant absence in their next Brazilian Championship match. Striker Yuri Alberto received his third yellow card in the 2-1 loss to Flamengo, this Sunday, 28, at Neo Química Arena, and will serve an automatic suspension against Internacional, at Beira-Rio.

The number 9 was warned after celebrating his goal with the black and white fans, right at the beginning of the second half. The striker had a game of highs and lows, as he missed a penalty and other clear chances in the first half before returning from the break and scoring. During the goal celebration, the player even cried and apologized to the fans.

Without Yuri Alberto, coach Dorival Júnior will need to reorganize the attack. Memphis is still uncertain, so Talles Magno, Vitinho, and Romero appear as the most likely alternatives to take over the starting position in the match against the Gauchos.

The clash against Internacional will take place on Wednesday, October 1st, at 7:30 pm (Brasília time), for the 26th round of the Brazilian Championship. Corinthians enters the duel in 12th place, with 29 points accumulated in 25 matches played in the national competition.
