Stuttgart's Yannik Keitel commits to loan extension at FC Augsburg | OneFootball

FC Augsburg have extended their contract with Yannik Keitel, who joined Augsburg on loan from VfB Stuttgart in the winter.

The Bavarian club has confirmed that the 26-year-old will continue to play for the Red-Green-Whites on loan next season. 

Furthermore, Augsburg have also secured an option to buy Keitel, who can be deployed in both defensive midfield and central defense.

Keitel was hampered by injuries during the 2025-26 campaign, making just six Bundesliga appearances for FCA last season.

“Despite his injury woes last season, Yannik showed that his exceptional character makes him a great fit for our team.

"We remain convinced of his qualities and believe that after a full preseason with the squad, he can contribute even more on the pitch.

"Therefore, we are delighted to extend the loan and go into the new season together with Yannik,” said sporting director Benni Weber.
