Suárez and Catamo power Sporting CP in six-goal rout | OneFootball

Sporting CP thrashed AVS 6-0 at the José Alvalade to remain second in Liga Portugal, leaving winless AVS rooted to the bottom.

In the 32nd minute, Luis Suárez rifled into the top right from outside the box. Maximiliano Araújo doubled the lead from Georgios Vagiannidis' cross (35.), and Geny Catamo drove in a third from range (37.).

After the restart, Araújo thumped in at the back post from another Vagiannidis delivery (47.). Suárez then finished from close range after Matheus Reis created from a corner (53.). Catamo rounded it off in the third minute of second half stoppage time from Trincão's pass.

João Gonçalves made nine saves for AVS, but the visitors produced only three efforts on target from seven attempts. Leões registered 14 shots on target from 24 attempts and controlled the game throughout.

Suárez is now on 11 league goals, leading the Liga Portugal scoring.
