Sunderland are into the final weeks of a remarkable Premier League campaign under Regis Le Bris, and planning for the summer window is already under way.
Football Insider reports that Sunderland and Bournemouth are 'keeping tabs' on Queens Park Rangers forward Rumarn Burrell, who joined from Burton Albion last summer.
The 25-year-old has scored 10 goals and supplied three assists in 30 appearances in all competitions in his first season at Loftus Road.
Burrell has also broken into international football, scoring on his Jamaica debut in a 3-2 friendly win against Trinidad and Tobago last May, then adding four further caps without another goal.
The report adds that Wolverhampton Wanderers are admirers and see the striker as part of efforts to rebuild after their Premier League relegation was confirmed last week.
It is suggested Wolves view him as a recognised Championship goalscorer who could help a swift return, while Bournemouth continue to monitor his progress.
Back on Wearside, a home win over Nottingham Forest would lift Sunderland into the top eight for at least 24 hours and strengthen hopes of a European adventure.
