Sunderland close to complete €30m transfer of Toulouse left-back Dayann Methalie | OneFootball

Sunderland are engaged in club-to-club talks with Ligue 1 side Toulouse over the transfer of France U21 international left-back Dayann Methalie (20), according to RMC Sport’s Fabrice Hawkins. The Black Cats, who are set to compete in the UEFA Conference League next season, have already secured an agreement on personal terms with Methalie over a five-year contract.

RMC Sport understands that Methalie is valued at around €30m, which would make Methalie the biggest sale of Toulouse’s history. The 20-year-old is billed as one of the best French prospects in the left-back role, with a senior France bow expected in a few years with Lucas Digne and Théo Hernandez entering the twilight of their career.

Club-to-club talks are said to be at an advanced stage between Toulouse and Sunderland. Aston Villa and Newcastle previously enquired about Methalie.
