Sunderland are watching Jobe Bellingham’s situation closely, with a 15% sell-on clause meaning any future move could hand the club a fresh windfall.

TEAMtalk reports Manchester United have the Borussia Dortmund midfielder back on their radar ahead of the summer window, as part of a wider midfield search.

The report adds United are looking at Carlos Baleba and Ederson, with Bellingham among several players assessed alongside Elliott Anderson, Sandro Tonali, Adam Wharton and Alex Scott. Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain are also credited with tracking his progress.

Sunderland sold Bellingham to Dortmund last summer for £27.8 million plus £4.2 million in add-ons, a record fee received by a newly promoted Premier League club. He signed a five-year deal after helping the Black Cats win promotion.

If the 15% clause is applied to a full future fee, examples include £6 million from £40 million or £9 million from £60 million, though some clauses apply only to profit above the original price.

Bellingham, 20, has started 18 of Dortmund’s last 20 matches under Niko Kovac and has 31 Bundesliga appearances this season. His overall Dortmund tally is 48 games and one goal.

At Sunderland he made 90 appearances and scored 11 times after arriving from Birmingham City in 2023, including a brace in a 2-1 win over Rotherham. He later scored against Birmingham, signed a new long-term deal in August 2024, won the 2025 EFL Championship Young Player of the Season and started the play-off final win over Sheffield United.
