Red and White Army has called on Sunderland to delay releasing unrenewed season tickets, citing unresolved renewal problems and anger over ticketing following last month’s Tyne-Wear derby.

The group has been in dialogue with the club since before the Newcastle United game, in which some tickets were rescinded then returned to sale after what the club said was a large-scale breach of ticketing rules. Concerns have grown alongside renewal issues and added scrutiny of processes since promotion to the Premier League.

Discussions remain ongoing as it seeks clarity on the derby episode and broader communication with fans, and it is pushing for a swift resolution.

The group has collated a list of problems affecting supporters, including seat moves, admin fees and switching between pricing structures or between corporate packages and general admission. It has requested a ticketing-specific meeting with the club as a matter of urgency given the time sensitive renewal timetable.

With many fans still unable to resolve issues, RAWA has asked Sunderland to hold back the release of unrenewed seats beyond the 5pm deadline on 20 April. The request is intended to ensure no supporter loses a season ticket or chance to move because of issues outside their control. Affected fans are invited to email info@redandwhitearmy.co.uk.
