Sunderland interim CEO Tom Burwell is set to meet supporter representatives after widespread concerns over ticketing and communication, with talks expected in the week commencing 4 May.
"Driving revenues in today's Premier League has to be the single most important thing for the business so that you can invest back into the team. The ownership and the board recognise the connection that is currently in place with the fans, and putting those fans first and foremost will always remain the same," he told Sunderland Echo.
Supporters have reported failed direct debits, seat allocation errors and persistent problems selecting or relocating seats during renewals. Fans have also cited unclear or inconsistent communication. The experiences cut across age groups, seating areas and ticket types, including the Jimmy Montgomery Suite, corporate areas, 76 Yards and general admission.
RAWA’s next structured dialogue meeting is approaching, and the group is gathering views from fans to shape the agenda via replies or at info@redandwhitearmy.co.uk.
Fresh cases continue to emerge as the club adjusts to life back in the Premier League. The meeting is expected to give supporter representatives the chance to put concerns to senior figures. The club has not responded to a request for comment.
